In this lighthearted romance filled with small-town humor and high jinks, an unsuspecting real estate agent becomes the wildest dream come true for all the single moms—except the one he wants.

They’re coworkers, friends, and confidants, but Peter Marshal has always pined for a little something more with Noelle Walters. As a widow and a single mom, Noelle prefers to play it safe, and falling for Peter was never part of the plan.

Then again, neither of their plans accounted for the well-meaning but meddling actions of Peter’s sister, who offers him up as their town’s most eligible bachelor in the local moms’ Facebook group. He’s none the wiser about the source of this sudden surge in attention, but he only has eyes for Noelle. And from where she’s standing on the sidelines of Peter’s popularity, it’s getting harder to pretend that she doesn’t see what everyone else sees in her best friend.

With all eyes on them, will Peter and Noelle finally see beyond the hurdles to the happily ever after that’s been there all along?

Why Should You Read This?

Talk of the Town by Jennifer Bardsley is a charming romantic comedy that will leave you with a smile on your face. The story follows real estate agent Peter Marshal and his longtime friend and coworker Noelle Walters, a widow and a single mom. Despite their close relationship, Peter has always harbored a secret crush on Noelle, while she has been content to keep things platonic.

However, everything changes when Peter’s sister decides to play matchmaker and creates a buzz about Peter being the town’s most eligible bachelor in the local moms’ Facebook group. Suddenly, all the single moms in town are vying for Peter’s attention, except for Noelle. As Peter becomes more popular, Noelle starts to realize that she may have feelings for him too.

The story is filled with small-town humor and high jinks, as well as a delightful cast of characters. The meddling of Peter’s sister adds a touch of comedy to the story, and the various moms competing for Peter’s attention provide plenty of laughs. However, the heart of the story is the relationship between Peter and Noelle. Their friendship and the slow-burning romance between them are the highlight of the book.

Bardsley’s writing is engaging and witty, and she creates a vivid small-town setting that readers will enjoy. The dialogue is sharp, and the characters are well-developed and likable. The author also tackles some serious themes, such as grief and the challenges of being a single parent, but does so with a light touch that never detracts from the overall lighthearted tone of the book.

In conclusion, Talk of the Town is a delightful romantic comedy that will warm your heart and leave you feeling uplifted. Bardsley has crafted a charming story filled with humor, heart, and a touch of drama, and fans of the genre will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
