ALLENTOWN, NJ (MONMOUTH)–Acclaimed as the premier touring jazz big band in the United States, the US Army Field Band’s Jazz Ambassadors will perform a free concert in Allentown, New Jersey on Sunday, September 26, 2021 beginning at 3 p.m. behind the Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church Street, Allentown, NJ. In case of rain, the concert will be held on the same date and time in the Allentown High School Auditorium at 27 High Street, Allentown, NJ 08501.
The band is coming to Allentown at the invitation of The Allentown Village Initiative (TAVI) through its “Allentown Arts” program, a series of performances and exhibits throughout the year designed to highlight the artistry of Allentown and Upper Freehold in the historic setting of the village of Allentown. Allentown Arts is made possible through the generosity of our community as well as a grant from Monmouth Arts, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners.
Established in 1969, the 19 piece Jazz Ambassadors orchestra has performed in all 50 states and around the globe. From Carnegie Hall to London, and now to Allentown New Jersey, the Jazz Ambassadors have brought America’s original art form – jazz – to audiences of all ages. Please bring a chair and join us for a program of favorites. Make it an afternoon and enjoy a stroll down historic Main Street with its unique shops and restaurants. The Jazz Ambassadors’ visit to Allentown is a collaborative effort between TAVI and the Allentown United Methodist Church, the Allentown Business Community Association (ABCA) and Bruno’s One Sweet Ride, which hosted its “Artist on the Avenue” concerts throughout the summer. The next “Allentown Arts” program is scheduled for Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of Allentown United Methodist Church featuring the talented faculty and students of Allentown’s own Mill Pond Music Academy.

ALLENTOWN-UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH)–The Allentown High School Senior Car Parade, a tradition that was restarted last year due to COVID-19 was held tonight though the streets of Allentown and Upper Freehold Township. The parade started at 6:00 p.m. and featured the Class of 2021. It was reported the tradition was held prior to 1980 and faded away and restarted last year due to the pandemic. The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and members/fire police from the Hope Fire Company of Allentown assisted with the parade.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–The Robbinsville High School Senior guys compete for the title and crown of “Mr. RHS” There were twelve contestants, one for each month from January to December performed in individual skits, a talent competition and a group number. Admission was $5. for students, $10. for adults and additional vote tickets were $1. each. All funds raised were for the benefit of the RHS Class of 2020.
Mr. July Nick Carella won the title and crown as Mr. RHS 2020.

The Allentown FFA Parents, Alumni, and Friends (PAF) will be hosting the 13th Annual Gift Auction andSpaghetti Dinner on March 21st, 2020 at 6:00PM at the Hope Fire House, 82 County Road 526 in Allentown, NJ. Doors will open at 5:30PM. The Allentown FFA PAF provides support to the Allentown FFA Chapter of Allentown High School throughout the year through scholarships, leadership training programs, and more.
Proceeds from the Allentown PAF Alumni Gift Auction will provide students with opportunities to pursue careers in veterinary science, agricultural technology and mechanical systems, earth sciences, environmental science, horticulture, aquaculture, and many other essential fields of work. Students are given the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom through FFA activities, such as competitive events and leadership trainings.
This event provides the Allentown FFA PAF with necessary funds to assist with chapter activities. This includes travel to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, the New Jersey FFA Convention, and various Career Development Events (CDEs) throughout the year. These are tremendous opportunities for members to grow personally and professionally. Through fundraising events, such as the Annual Gift Auction, all students have the opportunity to participate in any of the Chapter, State, and/or National activities, regardless of their financial situation.
Admittance for the 13th Annual Gift Auction is $15.00. The admittance ticket includes an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner. Seating is limited to the first 175 individuals. Please arrive early to secure your seat. No seats will be saved. Donations are also being accepted.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–The 8th Annual Black Friday Fun Run to help the Special Olympics New Jersey was held today at the Robbinsville Town Center gazebo. The run has raised well over $42,500. since 2012 for Special Olympics New Jersey.
The run started at 10 a.m. with runners in the front completing 2 laps around the lake. Walkers started in the back completing 1 lap around the Town Center Lake. This was a “fun run” no official time is kept. Door prizes were held after the event

Allentown, NJ—Allentown Boy Scout Troop 180 held their annual “Scouting for Food” event on Saturday November 4, 2019. The Scouts drive brought in 5,870 pounds of food that included 5,560 items. Combined with the Four Seasons food drive last week this brought the total collected to over 10,000 pounds of food.
Food can still be dropped off at the food pantry for both the Boy Scouts and Four Seasons Food Drives. Non-perishable, food items and hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, etc.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ– Walk down a dark, winding path with the Robbinsville High School Raven Players’ production of The Crucible by Arthur Miller. Witness the town of Salem, Massachusetts as it is thrown into a state of paranoia. Anyone can be a witch, and no one can be trusted.
The Crucible weaves the sobering tale of the mass hysteria caused by the Salem Witch Trials. Abigail, a young girl living with her uncle, Reveren Parris, has been having a torrid love affair with her employer, John Proctor, a married man. When John, overcome with guilt, confesses this to his wife Elizabeth, Abigail is fired at once. When Abigail commits a terrible sin, she will tell one, inconsequential lie to protect herself and others. As rumors begin to spread like wildfire and the town is plunged into a state of madness, Abigail’s small lie quickly spirals out of control. The Crucible, informed by historical events, exemplifies how quickly one white lie can turn against you, portraying a solemn, timeless tale that still rings true today.

October 29, 2019, HAMILTON– Robbinsville and area residents turned out in force to support Friends Making A Difference supporting Dave Doran. It was a packed house on Tuesday evening with reports of over 500 in attendance at The Stone Terrace by John Henery’s in Hamilton.
