BORDENTOWN CITY (BURLINGTON)– Two people were transported to the hospital Thursday night following a vehicle crash on US-206.
Just after 9:45, Consolidated Fire Association, Bordentown Twp/Cty Police, and EMS responded to the Southbound lanes of US-206 in front of the Valet Auto Wash for multiple calls reporting the crash. Radio reports indicate that one driver was thrown from one side of the vehicle to the other.
One patient was transported by Bordentown Township EMS to the Trauma Center at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. A second patient was transported by Mansfield EMS to Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton.
The crash is under investigation, no other information is available.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Around 8:30 p.m. Trenton Police, Trenton Fire, TEMS and Capital Health Paramedics responded to the area of Walnut and Chambers for a male shot. Upon arrival it was found that the male was shot in the thigh and was transported to Captial Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. No further information is available at this time.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER) — Emergency personnel worked for a full hour to free a man who was heavily entrapped in the wreckage of his Chevy Colorado pickup truck after it crashed and overturned onto its side about 7:20 p.m. Thursday night (Feb. 17). Trenton Fire Department, Trenton EMS, Capital Health Paramedics and Trenton Police all responded to the wreck at the intersection of Sanhican Drive and Sullivan Way. Firefighters had to cut away much of the vehicle to extricate the driver. At one point, EMS personnel on scene considered having a trauma surgeon respond to the scene due to how badly the driver was trapped. Finally, he was freed just before 8:25 p.m. He was then rushed via ambulance to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Six of Trenton High School’s most innovative students will share their perspectives on how to meet climate change challenges facing the City during the next meeting of the Trenton Kiwanis Club on Wednesday March 2, 2022. Each of the students has produced a three-minute video summarizing their research into climate change problems impacting Trenton and how they can be addressed. The students will present the videos for the first time on March 2nd.
The Kiwanis Club of Trenton is proud to host the students in partnership with Science Mentors-One-to-One. For over 25 years Science Mentors has fostered mentoring relationships that develop student competency and self-esteem through the application of the scientific method to environmental issues facing our society.
The students’ presentations on March 2nd are the culmination of a hands-on approach to problem solving that incorporates site visits and one-on-one expert consultations along with more conventional research methodology. It is also the continuation of a long-standing relationship between Kiwanis and Trenton students aimed at supporting student development and building stronger Trenton communities. The Kiwanis Club of Trenton has been a part of the City’s civic landscape since its founding in 1918.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Acting Chief Joseph Mandola of the Old Bridge Police Department announce a Manalapan man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal hit and run, which occurred in Old Bridge Township on the evening of February 14, 2022.
On February 15, 2022, at approximately 6:45 A.M., authorities responded to the area of Route 9 and Ferry Road following the report of a deceased male who was lying on the center median between the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 9. Upon their arrival, authorities located Anthony Allen, 64, of Asbury Park who had been struck by a vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation by Officer Steven Connolly of the Old Bridge and Detective Matthew Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutors’ Office identified Prince Fitzpatrick, 21, as the driver of the vehicle who struck Mr. Allen and then fled the scene.
Today, Fitzpatrick was arrested and charged with second-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and third-degree endangering an injured victim.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Fitzpatrick are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Trenton, N.J. – Mayor W. Reed Gusciora today announced that based on renewed interest in the area, the City has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit redevelopment plans for Roebling Block 2, a famous industrial complex in Trenton that dates back to 1849.
Roebling Block 2 is part of the historic John A. Roebling Wire Works, a steel wire manufacturing company founded in 1849 by Brooklyn Bridge designer John A. Roebling. By World War I, the factory was the largest wire rope plant in the world.
The city-owned property comprises seven industrial buildings and a large open space in the Chambersburg neighborhood between S. Clinton Avenue, Mott Street, and Hudson Street. The buildings on this property were built between 1885 and 1957, are currently zoned for mixed-use, and have existing open floor plans ranging from 6,000 to 52,000 square feet.
“No site in the city better reflects our motto, ‘Trenton makes, the world takes,’” said Mayor Gusciora. “From my first day in office, I’ve tried to get a developer interested in this block of abandoned Roebling factories. Luckily, in the last few months, we have already received multiple offers to revolutionize this area of Chambersburg with new residential units and public squares for arts and entertainment. We’re hoping this RFP attracts even more innovative proposals and demonstrates to City Council that there has never been a better time to finally redevelop this site for our residents.”
The City seeks to identify respondents with the ability to redevelop Roebling Block 2 as a mixed-use site that repurposes the historic industrial structures while taking advantage of the surrounding land for new construction. The anticipated uses for Roebling Block 2 include market rate housing, commercial enterprise, light industry, research and development, hospitality, and performance arts.
Submissions must be received by 12:00 p.m. on April 11, 2022. Delivery must be by either courier service or registered U.S. Mail to Trenton City Hall, Department of Housing and Economic Development (HED), Office of Director C. Andre Daniels, 319 East State Street, Trenton, NJ 08608. Proposals must include 10 paper copies and one electronic copy in USB drive format. Hard copies of the RFP are also available at HED.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department announced today that two individuals have been charged in connection with a fatal crash, which occurred on January 20, 2022.
An investigation by Captain Dominic Masi of the Edison Police Department and Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that two vehicles driven by Tyler Dickerson, 18, of South Brunswick and a male juvenile, 17, were involved in a high-speed race that resulted in the juvenile crashing his vehicle into a vacant building, killing Diana Somarriba, 18, of South Brunswick who was the juvenile’s passenger.
Yesterday, the juvenile was arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide, and aggravated assault. The juvenile was released on conditions following a hearing before the Family Court. Dickerson was also arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and aggravated assault. He also was released after a hearing in Superior Court.
