TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Around 6:00 p.m. police received 9-1-1 calls reporting a pedestrian stuck near the intersection of Lamberton and Bridge Streets. Trenton Police, Trenton Fire Department, TEMS and Capital Health Paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the victim. It appears the victim had severe injuries and there was heavy damage to the vehicle. The person was transported to Captial Health Regional Medical Center and a trauma alert was called. Trenton Police is investigating the crash. No further information is available at this time.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Around 5:50 p.m. shots rang out in the area of Federal, Centre and Turpin Streets leaving two people shot with non-life-threating injuries police told MidJersey.news.
Trenton Police, Trenton EMS, Capital Health Paramedics and Trenton Fire Department responded to the scene. One victim was transported from the area of Federal and Turpin Streets and another person reported shot on Centre Street, both were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Trenton Police had the area blocked by crime scene tape and numerus shell casings could be seen on the ground.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Hamilton Police say that on March 14, 2022, at approximately 3:40 p.m., a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon, driven by Bonnie Cody, a 56-year-old female from Hamilton, was traveling eastbound on Edinburg Road when at the intersection of Stamford Road, she struck Luis Minyety, 39-year-old male from Hamilton, and his two juvenile children while they were attempting to cross Edinburg Road. Minyety and his children suffered serious injuries and were transported to Capital Health Hospital at Fuld for treatment.
The crash is being investigated by Officer Brian DiBiasi and Officer Bryan Wood of the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit at (609)581-4000.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Mayor W. Reed Gusciora today issued an executive order to fulfill City obligations concerning the health, wellbeing, and safety of residents of the City of Trenton.
The order covers various obligations including measures ensuring uninterrupted emergency medical services for underinsured and uninsured residents; delivering COVID-related supplies and services; and conducting preventative public utility maintenance in compliance with the Administrative Consent Order governed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
“Today, I am issuing Executive Order 22-01 authorizing numerous emergency actions to maintain the health, safety, and wellbeing of the city,” said Mayor Gusciora. “There are limited circumstances when it becomes proper for the executive to use such executive powers. Emergent threats to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our residents are thresholds we cannot cross as stewards of the City.”
“Each one of the items contained here meets that criteria. Inaction would result in failure to comply with consent orders. Inaction would compromise our ability to deliver safe and clean water to the region. Inaction would restrict access to certain health care services vital to our residents,” Gusciora said. “For the good of our residents and in the name of public safety, I’m obligated to take action. We await the return of the City Clerk, or Council’s appointment of a substitute or assistant clerk, in order for the Council to address other unresolved issues before the City.”

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–A Trenton man has been arrested and charged for a December 11, 2021 shooting homicide that occurred on Chambers Street in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
Yancy Young, 33, is charged with murder and multiple weapon offenses. He was served his complaints last week at the Mercer County Correction Center where he is being held on an unrelated incident. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Young pending trial.
The charges are the result of an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department. On December 11, 2021, at approximately 1 a.m., Trenton police received a report of a person shot in front of 931 Chambers Street. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, later identified as 25-year-old Michael Degrasse Jr., located on the side of Championship Bar suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Degrasse was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later.
Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
