Title: Nothing Good Happens After Midnight
Author: Multiple Authors
Publisher: Suspense Publishing
ASIN: B08BPDVM7C
Suspense Magazine, in collaboration with New York Times bestselling author Jeffery Deaver offers an intriguing anthology of thirteen stories that revolve around midnight as their primary concept. The short stories belong to different genres of horror, suspense, sci-fi, and more.
While the stories are short, they are written well enough to do justice to the concept and the plot. With so many amazing authors involved, the genres and writing styles are like a salad bowl. They are all present and part of a single book, but they do hold on to their unique genre and writing style.
I enjoyed Peasey by John Lescroart, Tonic by D.P. Lyle, The Sixth Decoy by Paul Kemprecos, Night Shift by Linwood Barclay, Midnight in the Garden of Death by Heather Graham, and ATM by Jon Land. My absolute favorite was A Creative Defense by Jeffery Deaver. The stories are intriguing, riveting, and nail-biting.
This review is a short one, folks! But the book is a definite recommendation. I will give it a 4/5 stars as I didn’t enjoy a couple of the stories. But do go out and get this one. You will not regret it!
Thanks to editor and writer Jeffrey Deaver, BookSirens, and Suspense Publishing for the ARC of this engrossing anthology. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
