17-Year-Old Driving Stolen Car Charged With Multiple Offences In Hamilton Township – MidJersey.News

He was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Eluding, Possession of an Imitation Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing the Administration of Law, Defiant Trespassing and Possession of Stolen Credit Cards. He was released pending a hearing in Family Court.          

August 19, 2023,

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Hamilton Police reported that on Friday August 18, 2023 at approximately 12:01 p.m., Officers Stefanelli and Lucidi were in the area of Cedar Lane and South Olden Avenue when they observed a white Plymouth Breeze driving in the area. A lookup on the vehicle came back stolen out of Millville, NJ. The Officers initiated a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle but the vehicle refused to stop. Officer put out a description of the vehicle and the driver to other units in the area. The pursuit was quickly terminated. Shortly after, Officer Mayhew located the stolen vehicle parked in Trenton and saw the suspect walk from the stolen vehicle and enter the front passenger seat of a white Honda Accord. Additional units arrived and a motor vehicle stop was conducted on the Honda Accord. When the vehicle stopped, the suspect got out of the vehicle and fled on foot in the area of South Clinton Avenue and William Street in Trenton carrying a black satchel over his shoulder. The suspect was located in the rear yard of a residence on the 2000 block of William Street by Hamilton Officers and Officers from the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression Unit and placed under arrest. An imitation firearm was found in his possession. The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old juvenile from Millville.          

He was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Eluding, Possession of an Imitation Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing the Administration of Law, Defiant Trespassing and Possession of Stolen Credit Cards. He was released pending a hearing in Family Court.
