3 Alarm Fire in East Windsor Destroys Townhome; Woman Burned Flown to Hospital and Others Displaced – MidJersey.News

EAST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)–East Windsor Police say that on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at approximately 2:24 pm, members of the East Windsor Township Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 140 Bennington Drive, East Windsor, NJ. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the fire had engulfed all levels of the structure. The sole occupant of the residence had already been evacuated from the home by a nearby resident.

The resident of 140 Bennington Drive sustained cuts, scrapes, and burns to her arms, legs, and head. She was transported to Cooperman Barnabus Medical Center by NJ State Police helicopter, and she remains in critical condition. No other persons were injured as a result of the fire. The structures of 138 and 142 Bennington Drive sustained moderate damage from the fire. The properties were inspected by township code officials and determined to be uninhabitable. The displaced residents made temporary arrangements to stay at alternative locations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the East Windsor Police Department in conjunction with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
