NEW YORK, NY–After major public outcry that the “Tribute in Light” over Lower Manhattan on September 11 was canceled the 9/11 Memorial & Museum had decided to move forward with the event see notice below:

TOMS RIVER, NJ (0CEAN)–Police are currently looking in the Lake Ridge section of town for an 80 year old female with Alzheimer’s who left her home earlier this morning. She is 5’ 7”, approximately 120lbs, with blue eyes and grey hair. She was last seen wearing blue pants sneakers and white jacket. Anyone with any information please call 732-349-0150. Thank you

The New Jersey State Police and Toms River Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance with locating Marilyn Balzer, 80, from Toms River Township, Ocean County.

Marilyn was last seen earler today, at approximately 7:30 a.m., leaving her residence in the Lake Ridge section of Toms River Twp. She is described as a white female, 5’7″, 120 pounds, with blue eyes and grey hair. She was last seen wearing a white top and blue jeans.

Marilyn suffers from Alzheimer’s and may attempt to return to a previous residence in Union City or Old Bridge Township.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at 609-882-2000 ext. 2554 or the Toms River Police Department at 732-349-0150.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Around 7:00 pm a vehicle on Stuyvesant Avenue lost control and crashed into a utility pole severing it and totaling the sport utility vehicle. Trenton Police, Trenton Fire Department and TEMS responded. The driver did not seek transport to the hospital and appeared uninjured. No other information is available about the accident.

EWING TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–At 3:14 PM Ewing Police dispatch was notified by NJ Human Services Police that a male walked away from Trenton Psychiatric Hospital (TPH). Investigation revealed that Robert Cortez, 5/22/91, 5’6″ 140 pounds, last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans walked away from the facility at 9:23 AM. Cortez was being held at TPH on an aggravated assault charge. Human Services Police have entered Cortez into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a wanted person for escape. Cortez has ties to Hudson County and Manchester Township in Ocean County. His current address is listed as homeless with TPH. If you see Robert Cortez, please do not approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–A rally was held this morning to “Back The Blue” in sport of police. Between 750 and 1,000 appeared to be in attendance in a parade of cars, trucks, Jeeps, motorcycles and bicycles that left Veteran’s Park around 10 am and paraded though town to the VFW. Most vehicles had American Flags, Thin Blue Line Flags or other signs of support for our police.

At the VFW Ronald C. Brooks sang the National Anthem and Amazing Grace as the NJ State Police aviation unit did a fly over of the event.
