EWING TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–This morning Ewing Police stopped a stolen pickup truck at Parkside and Pingree Avenues. Police say that the vehicle was reported stolen on July 27, 2022 and it was returned to its owner today. No further details are available.
Main Street South Bound Detour Until Repairs Made

ALLENTOWN, NJ (MONMOUTH)–Around 2:24 p.m. a vehicle traveling south bound on North Main Street near Probasco Drive ran off the roadway striking and severing a utility pole and continued down the shoulder of the roadway hitting small trees and mailboxes before coming to a rest on the side of North Main Street. Firefighters from Allentown-Upper Freehold Hope Fire Company responded to the scene as well as Allentown – Capital Health EMS. No injuries were reported. PSE&G was called due to the damaged pole and the road was closed in the south bound direction. Allentown Police Department is investigating the crash. No further details are available about the crash.

MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH)–A Millstone Township man has been arrested and criminally charged with fatally shooting an acquaintance last month, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced Tuesday.
David A. Bulk, 71, is charged with first-degree Murder and a related second-degree weapons offense in connection with the death of 49-year-old Gerard Carpinello of Portland, Pennsylvania.
Shortly after 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, members of the New Jersey State Police responded to a report of a shooting at a private residence on Woodville Road near the intersection of Appaloosa Drive in Millstone. Troopers found Carpinello at the scene, having sustained multiple gunshot injuries; he was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he died due to his injuries on Friday, July 29.
Bulk was also located at the scene on the night of the shooting and was immediately taken into custody, later being charged with Attempted Murder. He was subsequently released on conditions following a Superior Court hearing at which the State had argued to keep him detained, then rearrested on the upgraded charge of Murder without incident at his home by members of the MCPO Major Crimes Bureau, the State Police, and the U.S. Marshals Service yesterday morning, pending a second detention hearing.
This case has been assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Michael Luciano. Bulk is being represented by Thomas V. Campo, Esq., with an office in Toms River, and Tara Breslow-Testa, Esq., with an office in Freehold Borough.

Convictions on criminal charges of this nature are commonly punishable by terms of up to life in state prison. Despite the charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Some drivers of passenger vehicles (two axles and less than 8-feet high) may have been overcharged if they used the right E-ZPass-only lane at the Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1) Toll Bridge’s toll plaza between February and early July.
A damaged E-ZPass reader in that lane sporadically caused an undetermined number of passenger vehicles to be charged a $9 toll instead of the prescribed $1.25 fare. The problem appears to be confined to SUVs, vans, pickup trucks, and cars with high rooflines or roof racks.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission is urging Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge E-ZPass customers to check their account statements for possible overcharges as soon as possible and contact the Commission directly through its toll-free customer service line – 1-800-363-0049 – with detailed information for refunds, if warranted. The line is staffed during weekday business hours. After hours, callers may leave a recorded message along with a phone number where they can be reached by Commission staff during weekday business hours. Customers also may email detailed information on overcharges to Commission E-ZPass staff directly at [email protected].

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–At 11:45 p.m. August 1, 2022 the Robbinsville Fire Department and Bordentown Township Fire Department were dispatched to mile post 59 north bound just prior to Exit 7A for an overturned tractor trailer with reported entrapment. When firefighters arrived, it was determined that the driver was able to crawl out on their own power and refused medical treatment and transport to the local hospital. Firefighters remained on scene due to a fuel leak from the saddle tanks of the tractor trailer. New Jersey State Police is investigating. No further details are available at this time. Firefighters were still on scene at the time of this report.
