EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–The East Windsor Township Police Department initiated the following police reports through Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
Remember that all accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a Court of law.
DUI
Location: Town Center Plaza Time/Date: 2:39 AM, 11/21/2021
The officer conducted a field inquiry with an idling, parked vehicle in the rear of the Town Center Plaza. The officer observed open cans of beer inside the vehicle. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under a1Test after failing field sobriety tests. The driver was later released pending court action.

The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a vehicle with an expired registration. The officer observed prescription drugs that were not prescribed to the driver in plain view. The driver was placed under arrest and later released pending court action.

Shoplifting
Location: Shop Rite (319 Route 130 North) Time/Date: 1:45 PM, 11/25/2021
The officer responded to Shop Rite for a reported shoplifting. The officer located the individual in the parking lot actively running away from Loss Prevention personnel. The individual immediately complied with the officer’s command to stop running and was arrested.
Investigation revealed that the individual left the store without paying for $118.14 worth of merchandise. The individual was later released pending court action.
