TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–The suspect wounded Saturday during an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in Trenton has been charged with assault, resisting arrest and obstruction offenses, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
Jajuan Henderson, 29, of Burlington, is charged with four counts of aggravated assault (second degree) and one count each of resisting arrest (third degree) and obstruction (fourth degree). There is no scheduled court appearance at this time.
At approximately 12:15 AM, Saturday February 12th, 2022, members of the Trenton Police Street Crimes Unit were involved in a Police shooting resulting from an encounter with Henderson in a motor vehicle. During this incident, Henderson was shot by one officer. Henderson was initially treated at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton, and has since been transferred to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, where he remains in stable condition. No officers appear to have been injured. All four officers have been placed on administrative leave, and the scene was processed on Saturday by the New Jersey State Police, both of which are standard protocols for incidents of this nature.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force continues to investigate the shooting, which is also standard protocol for these incidents. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has been notified, as well. Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

BORDENTOWN, NJ (BURLINGTON)–Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Bordentown Township Police Chief Brian Pesce announced that a 36-year-old Bordentown Township man has been charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
Jay J. Howe, of the first block of Kennebec Court, was charged with three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (two Second Degree and one Third Degree). The case will be prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment.
Howe, who is a volunteer firefighter and past Captain at Hope Hose Fire Company in Bordentown City, was arrested February 9 and lodged in the Burlington Jail in Mount Holly pending a detention hearing in Superior Court.
Howe was taken into custody at his residence following the execution of a search warrant. Electronic devices seized during the search will be examined by detectives from the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit.
The investigation began in December after the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit received information regarding Howe’s cyber activities from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation revealed that Howe was using an app to send and receive videos containing child sexual abuse material.
The investigation was conducted by the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit, with assistance from United States Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Office, the New Jersey State Police, the Bordentown Township Police Department and the Evesham Township Police Department. The lead investigator was BCPO Detective Jennifer Appelmann.
The BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit and HSI – Cherry Hill are members of the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The BCPO also belongs to the New Jersey State Police Cyber Terrorism Task Force.

Manchester Twp NJ – At approximately 5:18 pm yesterday, Manchester Police Department received a call from Manchester EMS, who stated that they saw a male fitting the description of the suspect, Roy Deronde. They reported he was in the area near their headquarters, and further observed him crossover Colonial Dr. and jump the fence into Leisure Village West community. A short time later Manchester Police Dispatch received additional phone calls from several residents within the Leisure Village West Community reporting that a male fitting Deronde’s description was knocking on their doors and asking them to call a taxi. Manchester Police arrived on scene and determined that Deronde appeared to be confined to an area between Huntington Dr, State Highway #37 West, Colonial Dr., and Buckingham Dr. A perimeter was established using all available manpower. The NJSP Aviation Unit and Manchester Drone units were unable to fly due to the weather conditions. Patrol tracked several sets of footprints in the snow while additional resources were mobilized. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department dispatched K-9 units as well as most of their Criminal Investigative Units to the area as well. Toms River Police Department provided additional support units to assist with securing the perimeter as well. Further information was developed that Deronde had obtained a ride from within the Leisure Village West Community and was transported to the area of Leisure Village East, in Lakewood. Officers developed further leads as to Deronde’s whereabouts in conjunction with where he was dropped off. Manchester Police, Ocean County Sheriff’s Officers, and Lakewood Police responded to the Leisure Village East Community. A short time later Deronde was apprehended at his residence and placed into custody without incident. Deronde was lodged in Ocean County Jail on charges of Assault by Auto, Eluding, Leaving the Scene of a crash resulting in injury, Hindering Apprehension and Obstruction of Justice.
Manchester Twp NJ – On Saturday, February 13, 2022 at approximately 5:56 pm,officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to the intersectionof State Highway 70 and Colonial Drive to investigate a motor vehicle accident involvingthree motor vehicles in the intersection.Upon arrival, officers observed a silver, 2008 Nissan Altima full engulfed in flamesfacing west on the eastbound shoulder of State Highway. Officers also found a red,2018 Mercedes Benz GLC facing west in the eastbound lane of State Highway 70 and awhite, 2019 Jeep Cherokee facing north in the intersection of State Highway 70 andColonial Drive. The investigation revealed that the Nissan Altima was travelingwestbound on State Highway 70 at a high rate of speed on the westbound shoulder ofState Highway 70 when the driver ran the red light. The Nissan Altima entered into theintersection impacting the white Jeep Cherokee, which was traveling south on ColonialDrive. After impacting the White Jeep Cherokee, the Nissan Altima crossed over thecenterline and struck the Mercedes Benz which was in the eastbound travel lane ofState Highway 70. After striking the Mercedes Benz the Nissan Altima continued totravel west on State Highway 70 in the eastbound travel before impacting a utility poleand becoming fully engulfed in flames. The driver of the Nissan Altima, was identified asRoy Deronde Jr., out of Kingston, PA, who fled on foot from the scene of the accident.The passenger of the Nissan Altima, was identified as Fannie Kistner, also out ofKingston, PA who fled the scene on foot but was later found and medical attention wasrendered. Ms. Kistner was transported to Community Medical Center for her injuries.The driver and passenger of the Mercedes Benz, were identified as Richard and CathyKulaszewski, from Toms River, NJ, who were uninjured from the crash. The driver of theJeep Cherokee, was identified as Grace Poli, of Manchester, NJ.The driver of the Nissan Alitima, Roy Deronde Jr., was charged with, Assault by Auto,
Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Hindering
Apprehension and Obstruction of Justice. As the investigation is continuing there is apotential that Mr. Deronde could be facing additional charges. The whereabouts of Mr.Deronde are not known, however there is an active warrant for his arrest.Assisting at the scene were EMTs from the Manchester Township Division ofEmergency Services, volunteer firefighters from Manchester Volunteer Fire Companyand Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company, New Jersey Central Power and Light, OceanCounty Sheriff’s Department, Lakehurst Police Department, the New Jersey StatePolice Aviation Unit. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, but at this point, thedisregard of a traffic control device, and a high rate of speed is the contributing cause ofthe motor vehicle accident. This crash is being investigated by Patrolman ConnerYatauro of the Manchester Township Traffic Safety Unit.
