TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Trenton Police Department, Detective Lieutenant Lisette Rios reported the following incidents in the City of Trenton on July 4, 2024:

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on July 4, 2024, Trenton Police Communications received a call of a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Division Street and South Clinton Avenue Patrol Bureau officers responded to the scene and observed an older juvenile victim in the roadway, injured and unresponsive. The victim was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and remains unresponsive. Trenton Police Department Detective Vishan Singh and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team were notified and responded. They discovered the victim was riding a Razor scooter on South Clinton Avenue, toward Chestnut Avenue, when it struck a Toyota Sienna that was on Division Street heading toward South Broad Street Det. Singh will continue the investigation with the assistance of the Serious Collision Response Team. 

     At approximately 10:41 p.m. on July 4, 2024, a good Samaritan observed a Tesla on it’s roof at the intersection of Centre Street and Ferry Street the citizen contacted police and checked for any injured persons.  There were no reported injuries. No other information about this incident is avaialble.

     At approximately 10:59 p.m. on July 4, 2024 Trenton Police Communications received a call of a person shot in the area of West State Street and Perdicaris Place  Patrol Bureau officers arrived on scene and located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by TEMS to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment and was in stable condition. A scene was located nearby on West Hanover Street and the Shooting Response Team is investigating.

     At approximately 11:31 p.m. on July 4, 2024, Trenton Police Communications received a call of a person shot in the area of Stuyvesant Avenue and Hoffman Avenue Patrol Officers responded and located a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. This incident was turned over to the Homicide Task Force. A second victim from this incident, a female, arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound. She was in stable condition. 

     At approximately 1:02 a.m. on July 5, 2024, Trenton Police Communications received a call of shots fired on the 300 block of West Hanover Street, with a vehicle and a residence struck. Patrol officers responded to the scene and located two vehicles struck by gunfire. While at the scene, officers were advised that a victim arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds.  The Shooting Response Team was notified and responded. The victim was listed in stable condition and the Shooting Response Team will continue this investigation. 

     In addition, there’s one incident that was handled by the New Jersey State Police Marine Bureau. At approximately 9:37 p.m., New Jersey State Police contacted Trenton Communications regarding calls for a boat taking on water after colliding with jet skiers in the river.  The Trenton Fire Department, Trenton EMS -TEMS, Paramedics and the NJSP responded. The boat was determined to be in Hamilton Township so Hamilton Police were also notified. Trenton Police did not investigate or complete any reporting for this incident. Midjersey.news has contacted the New Jersey State Police Office of Public Information for further details on this incident.

TOMS RIVER, NJ (OCEAN)–Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Toms River Township Police Chief Mitchell Little announced that Maxwell Johnston, 35, of Manchester Township, who was wanted in connection with the Murder of Gabriella Caroleo, 25, of Seaside Heights, that occurred in Manchester Township on June 27, 2024, is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a nearly seven-hour standoff at 1905 Ravenwood Drive in Toms River.

“We thank everyone in the neighborhood for their patience as this situation is concluded and there is no further danger to the public,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated.

Prosecutor Billhimer and Chief Little express their sincere gratitude to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department Emergency Services Unit, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, Toms River Police SWAT Team, Toms River Police Department Detective Bureau, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office and United States Marshal’s Service for their cooperative assistance with this situation.

“I’d like to commend the men & women in law enforcement that spent the day trying to bring this situation to a peaceful resolution.  There were many tense moments and the men & women that were out there handled themselves professionally and thankfully none of them were injured,” Prosecutor Billhimer concluded.

Manchester Man Wanted for Murder

Maxwell Johnston, 35, of Manchester Township, who was wanted in connection with the Murder of Gabriella Caroleo, 25, of Seaside Heights, that occurred in Manchester Township on June 27, 2024, is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a nearly seven-hour standoff at 1905 Ravenwood Drive in Toms River.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a shooting homicide in Trenton.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024, Trenton police responded to the 800 block of Stuyvesant Avenue on a shooting in progress. Responding officers arrived on scene to discover an adult male on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The victim has been identified as Amir Williams, 32, of Trenton. During the investigation, a second shooting victim, an adult female, arrived at the hospital with a gunshot to the right hip area.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact MCHTF Detective Elijah Phillips at (609) 414-2006 or Sgt. Roberto Reyes at (609) 256-0997. Information can also be emailed to [email protected].
