ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERER) – According to state health officials and the West Windsor Township Health Department, a presumptive positive case of COVID-19 (coronavirus) has been identified inside a professional office in Robbinsville Township.

The presumptive positive case was identified by the State earlier today as a 62-year-old male. The individual resides in Burlington County and works at the Robbinsville office, which has been closed and is being thoroughly cleaned. Cases are deemed presumptive until test results are confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

The West Windsor Township Health Department, which oversees Robbinsville, yesterday began notifying persons who have been in contact with this individual as to what precautions should be taken. The local health department, in conjunction with state officials and Public Safety Director and Mayor Dave Fried, will provide further details as they become available.

“We have been preparing for this eventuality for several weeks,” Mayor Fried said. “Earlier today we suspended activities at the Senior Center until further notice, have ordered sanitary supplies and have educated our entire staff on proper, health-oriented procedures. Even with a presumptive positive case locally, there is no reason to panic. Continue to practice good hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly several times a day, cover your mouth when you cough and do not touch your face. If you experience a sudden fever, contact your doctor immediately. We will continue to work with all of our partners in order to prepare for any possible spread.”

Note: Township of Robbinsville Officials stated that the location involved is a local business office and not a Robbinsville Township Office or Employee of the town. Person involved recently traveled to Italy and returned and came down with symptoms of the virus and was tested.
