Howell Township — On the evening of November 11^th, 2023, Howell Township patrol units responded to Longhorn Steakhouse in reference to a disorderly person inside the establishment. Restaurant staff described the male as erratic and confrontational. They were unsure if the male was under the influence of narcotics or alcohol. When patrol units arrived, the subject, 38-year-old Zachariah Hartman of Toms River, attempted to flee the scene, subsequently striking a police cruiser. Hartman then eluded police through the township which resulted in him striking two other Howell police cruisers, disabling one.

Hartman continued onward with police following through several municipalities. These towns including Lakewood Township, Jackson Township, Freehold Township, Freehold Borough, Millstone Township, Plumstead Township and Colts Neck Township. In total, the pursuit lasted over 2 hours and ranged approximately 100 miles. He was eventually apprehended in Jackson Township without incident.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the pursuit. Hartman was criminally charged with 2 counts of eluding, 2 counts of aggravated assault and 1 count of obstruction. He was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institute where he was lodged pending his detention hearing.

Hopewell, NJ—On Saturday, October 28, 2023, the Rothwell and Henderson families and Pennington Quality Market hosted a one-day shopping event donating 5% of the day’s proceeds to Capital Health’s Center for Comprehensive Breast Care. In its ninth consecutive year, this event has raised nearly $47,000 to benefit services and programs available to the women (and men) cared for at the Capital Health Center for Comprehensive Breast Care. The Pennington Quality Market is a family owned and operated grocery store in Pennington that is committed to supporting the community.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–About 9:10 a.m. this morning, Trenton Fire Department was dispatched to 511 Centre Street (again) for a house fire. Engine 3 arrived with a smoke condition and an All Hands was called sending additional units to the scene. Firefighters found small fires on Divisions (floors) two and three. The searches of the building were negative, and no victims were found. The fires were extinguished and firefighters remained on scene for overhaul. 511 Centre has been the scene of other fires as well. Past fires have also been reported in the 500 block Neighbors were outside their homes and in an uproar stating the city refuses to do anything about the burned out abandoned homes there that keep attracting vagrants. Units 511 thru 519 have burned more than once, some 3 times. The address of 511 is attached to 509 which is still occupied.
