TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–A crime scene was set up on Daymond Street this evening and it appeared that police were actively investigating a shooting at the end of the street. A pair of sandals and some other articles of clothing were left in the street in the area of the investigation. No information was available about the shooting.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–Robbinsville won their football game during the home opener tonight with a final score of 42-6 against Princeton. It was Robbinsville’s Senior Night. Senior nights have been pushed forward in the season due to COVID. Also there was no handshake tradition at the end of the game, both teams lined up across from each other and wished each other good luck with the rest of the season.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department announced today that an individual has been arrested and charged with causing the death of another person in a crash that occurred on Route 1 South in New Brunswick on the night of October 1, 2020.
Arsalan Gul, 21, of Edison, was charged with one count of second-degree Vehicular Homicide, one count of third-degree Hindering Apprehension, and one count of Driving While Intoxicated.
On October 1, 2020 at approximately 11:30 P.M., New Brunswick Police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles. An investigation by Officer Peter Maroon of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Gul, who was driving an Infiniti sedan, crashed into a Honda Civic causing it to strike a Lexus SUV in the adjacent lane. The driver of the Civic, Brian O’Donnell, 32, of Robbinsville, was pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Subsequently, it was determined Gul was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and a controlled dangerous substance.
Gul is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center pending a Detention Hearing.
The investigation is active and continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Maroon at (732) 745-5005, or Detective Berman at (732) 745-4328.
As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Gul are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Two cars were involved in a crash at South Broad Street and Highland Avenue just before 6:30 Friday night. Hamilton Fire Departments responded to the scene and performed a “door pop” to free a patient from one of the vehicles. One of the accused in the crash fled the scene on foot into the wooded area on Highland Avenue. The accused was apprehended at Grand view and sodden after a foot pursuit
There were four reported total injured and Robert Wood Johnson EMS transported three to the hospital, one person refused medical care.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–The New Jersey State Police have arrested Sean Fitzgerald, 20, of Litchfield CT, and Jahseem Sanders, 22, and Juwan Seaton, 23, both of Philadelphia, PA, and seized $2,000 worth of marijuana, $300 worth of ecstasy, and $2,000 worth of hallucinogenic mushrooms during a traffic stop in Robbinsville Township, Mercer County.
On Thursday, October 1, at 10:29 a.m., Trooper Anthony Ferretti stopped Fitzgerald for a traffic violation at milepost 7.9 eastbound on Interstate 195. During the stop, Tpr. Ferretti discovered that Fitzgerald and his passengers, Sanders and Seaton, were in possession of marijuana, ecstasy, and hallucinogenic mushrooms, and arrested them without incident.
Sean Fitzgerald, Juwan Seaton, and Jahseem Sanders were charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Sanders was additionally charged with possession of prescription legend drugs. Fitzegrald, Sanders, and Seaton were charged and released pending a future court date.
Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–NJ State Police Spokesman Sgt. Lawrence Peele told MidJersey.News that the crash occurred at 9:06 p.m. on Interstate 195 eastbound in Hamilton Township, Mercer County. Preliminary information indicates that in the area of Exit 3 (milepost 3.2) two pedestrians were standing outside of their Ford Escape which was parked in a construction zone in the right lane. A Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound when it entered the construction zone and struck the rear of a Freightliner crash truck. The crash truck was pushed forward striking the Ford Escape and the two pedestrians. Both pedestrians sustained serious injuries and the driver of the Dodge sustained moderate injuries. All 3 were transported to an area hospital. The right lane and the Exit 3 ramp were closed for approximately 6 hours. Cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Hamilton Township Fire Department, RWJ Hamilton EMS, Robbinsville Township Fire Department EMS, and paramedics from Capital Health responded to the scene for the injured. Hamilton Township Fire Department performed the extrication.
