WEST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)–West Windsor Police and West Windsor Emergency Services were dispatched to a head-on motor vehicle crash on Old Trenton Road near Colt Circle around 3:20 p.m. Several 9-1-1 callers were reporting entrapment West Windsor Fire, Robbinsville EMS and Captial Health Paramedics were also sent to the scene.

Two commercial vehicles crashed head-on in the center of the roadway, and one person was trapped in a vehicle that required extrication and door removal.

West Windsor Emergency Services, Robbinsville EMS and Captial Paramedics transported two victims with “trauma alerts” called to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

West Windsor Police and the Mercer County Fire Police closed the roadway for the serious crash investigation.

West Windsor Police reported the roadway reopened around 6:35 p.m.

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a Trenton man was found guilty yesterday of fatally shooting a 26-year-old woman three years ago inside a parked car on Baldwin Lane in the Buckingham Park section of Willingboro Township.

Devon Woods, 28, of the first block of Vine Street, was convicted of Murder (First Degree), Robbery (First Degree), Conspiracy to Commit Robbery (Second Degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Second Degree), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Second Degree) and Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons (Second Degree).

The Superior Court jury returned the verdict after deliberating for approximately 2½ hours inside the Burlington County Courts Facility in Mount Holly. The Hon. Christopher J. Garrenger, J.S.C., scheduled sentencing for January 6, 2023.

Woods was arrested along with Sam Gore of Willingboro and accused of killing Deasia Ayres of Willingboro in the early morning hours of September 18, 2019.

The investigation revealed that Woods fired a handgun into her neck and head as she sat inside her Dodge Durango. The motive was robbery.

Gore, 28, will be scheduled for trial on similar charges. Gore and Woods have been held in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly since being arrested a week after the shooting.

They are being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Bob Van Gilst, supervisor of the BCPO Major Crimes Unit – Violent Crimes Section, and Assistant Prosecutor Rachel Conte.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Willingboro Township Police Department Township Police Department, with assistance from the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office – Jack Kemler, Sheriff and the Trenton, New Jersey Police Department. The lead investigators are BCPO Sgt. Tony Luyber and WTPD Detective Sgt. Jason Galiazzi.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–A driver having a medical event lost control of his vehicle on Lawrence Road and crashed into a home on Lawrence Road. Lawrence Township Fire, Lawrence Township Police, Lawrence EMS and Captial Health Paramedics responded to the scene at 10:00 a.m. The person was transported to Captial Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment, a “trauma alert” was called en route to the hospital. Lawrence Township Police are investigating the crash. No further details are available at this time.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Princeton Avenue and Calhoun Street this afternoon. Trenton Fire Department, Trenton EMS, Captial Health Paramedics, and Trenton Police responded to the scene. It was reported that one of the victims received a laceration to the head. Trenton Police Department is investigating the crash.

Fall foliage conditions in most of New Jersey are close to peak or at peak conditions. If looking for a good leaf peeping opportunity, Friday and Saturday would be the best days this weekend to get out doors and view the fall colors. A chance of rain is predicted for Sunday making Friday and Saturday the best days for viewing.

If traveling, High Point State Park and Stokes State Forest areas are past peak conditions. Even some areas in northern Warren County have peaked and are starting to go past peak.

This weekend check out Vernon, New Jersey, Mountain Creek offers a “Sky Ride” for $10. The Sky Ride ticket is required to ride The Cabriolet to the top of Vernon Peak. To purchase a Sky Ride ticket, visit the Mountain Creek website since the ticket is only available online: Sky Ride Tickets

Aerial photos of the Paulinskill Viaduct, leaves in the area appear to be past peak on October 19, 2022. This property is owned by the State of New Jersey and off limits and police will issue summons for trespassing so avoid going on the bridge or parking directly below the structure.

The Paulinskill Viaduct, also known as the Hainesburg Viaduct, is a reinforced concrete railroad bridge that crosses the Paulins Kill in Knowlton Township, New Jersey. When completed in 1910, it was the largest reinforced concrete structure in the world. See more at Wikipedia
