NEW HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (BURLINGTON)–New Hanover Township Police report a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident occurred on Cookstown-Wrightstown Road (Rt. 616) at approximately 6:58 p.m. on October 5, 2022. A silver Nissan, driven by the victim Jeremy Schaffer, of Cookstown, NJ, collided with a GMC pickup being operated by Levi Scull of Westampton, NJ. The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle being operated by Jeremey Schaffer lost control and collided head on with the pick-up truck. Jeremy Schaffer succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Levi Scull was transported to Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ with non-life threating injuries. The accident is being investigated by the New Hanover Township Police Department.

Update: South Brunswick Police Make Arrests in Double Stabbing Case

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–Authorities have confirmed that two victims have been stabbed near the Home Depot on Wynwood Drive and Route 1 around 8:48 p.m. Details are still sketchy at this time if the victims were in the store or outside the store when the incident occurred.

South Brunswick Police, EMS and Paramedics are still on scene at the time of this report. Mutual aid paramedics were called to the scene from Captial Health in Mercer County.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Trenton Public Information Officer Timothy J. Carroll stated that at 5:39 p.m. the Trenton Police Department Street Crimes Unit responded to a motor vehicle violation at Oakland Street and Hoffman Avenue, a bystander got involved and interfered with police officers. When officers attempted to take him into custody, a group surrounded the officers, and two officers were injured and were treated at Robert Wood Hospital. Two males are under arrest for aggravated assault on law enforcement officers and another is pending arrest after they find out who threw the bottle at the officer. 

Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson stated that violence against our citizens or police officers will not be tolerated. Be sure, our team is tracking down all responsible parties and will be bringing them to justice. This community is fed up with the cowardly actions of the few and is working with law enforcement to identify the perpetrators of violence. HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Around 2:15 p.m. a Jeep traveling south in the 2100 Block of Yardville Hamilton Square Road (across from Reynolds Middle School and Steinert High School Softball Field) appeared to have lost control as it left the roadway, drove into a yard, hit a car, crashed through a fence and came to rest as it crashed into a home. Hamilton Township Police, Hamilton Township Fire Department, RWJ EMS and Captial Health Paramedics responded to the scene. A person appeared to be removed from the vehicle and placed in the ambulance with non-life-threating injuries. Hamilton Township Fire Department made sure the structure was safe and secured the Jeep so it could be removed. The Hamilton Township Building Department was called, and an inspector was responding. The Hamilton Township Police Department is investigating the crash.

No official details are available at this time. It was unclear if the person was transported to the hospital and there was no indication why the vehicle left the roadway. The story will be updated when details of the crash are released.
