Police Investigate Pedestrian Struck By Motor Vehicle In Hopewell – MidJersey.News

HOPEWELL, NJ (MERCER)–Police say that on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 6:25 p.m., Hopewell Township Police units were dispatched to a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash on E. Broad St. at the intersection with Elm St.  Officers arrived on scene, found the pedestrian injured and provided aid along with incoming EMS personnel.

The pedestrian, an approximately 48 year old Hopewell Borough man, sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance from the scene for further medical evaluation and treatment.  The pedestrian remains in critical but stable condition with several severe head injuries.

The driver, a 61-year-old Lambertville man, remained on scene and cooperated with police during the on-scene investigation.  The driver was not injured in the crash.

The initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling west on E. Broad St. and struck the pedestrian who was crossing E. Broad St. at the crosswalk.

The crash is being investigated by Officer Robert Voorhees and Detective Chris Collins of the Hopewell Township Police Department, as well as the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

E. Broad St. was closed during the initial investigation but was opened shortly thereafter.
