ALLENTOWN, NJ (MONMOUTH)–At 8:15 p.m. the Hope Fire Company of Allentown, Allentown EMS, and Allentown Police Department responded to South Main Street for a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival an Amazon Delivery van appeared to rear end another vehicle traveling south on Main Street. Initially there was a reported injury but it did not appear that anyone was transported to the hospital from the scene. Firefighters applied oil absorbent and prepared the vehicles to be towed away that were leaking fluids. Allentown Police Department is investigating the crash. No further details are available at this time.

BARNEGAT LIGHT, NJ (OCEAN)–Around 7:36 p.m. multiple Police, Fire and Rescue Units responded to 404 Broadway for a “building collapse” with around 200 people on the second floor during a wedding. Upon arrival it was determined that 200 people needed evacuation from the building and the floor was caving in but not fully collapsed.
Barnegat Light First Aid Squad reported “Squad 12 along with multiple other agencies are on scene of a reported building collapse in the 4th street area of Barnegat Light. As of now there are fortunately no reported injuries and firefighters are working to secure the building’s structure at this time.”
A Fire Marshal and Building Inspector were requested to the scene.
From Barnegat Light Volunteer Fire Company #1: “As many of you already know, we were dispatched to Daymark last night for reports of a collapse of the second floor. The floor did not collapse, but caved in resulting in the structure being unsafe for the meantime. The DJ did an excellent job of announcing to all patrons to safely exit the building after hearing the rumble noise. Great job by Incident command of both fire (1300) and EMS (120). There were no injuries. Thank you to all assisting agency’s. Barnegat Light First Aid Squad, Squads 49, 14, 38, Medics 1303, EMS Coordinator, Fire Marshall’s, LBTPD and anyone else we may have missed. Also, congratulations to the bride and groom!”

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–Around 11:17 a.m. Trenton EMS was on scene of an EMS call at Trent Center located at 511 Greenwood Avenue when a frantic call by Trenton Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) asking for police was heard over the EMS radio. The emergent call was asking for police for “shots fired and shooting victim and stabbing victim”
TEMS requested another advance life support unit for a “stabbing” Trenton Police responded to the scene as well as Trenton Fire Department.
One person reportedly shot was transported immediately to Captial Health Regional Medical Center with a “trauma alert” and it was unclear but there was another victim, possibly a stabbing on the 14th floor of the Trent Center. A second victim was also transported to Captial Health Regional Medical Center and a “trauma alert” was called for that victim.
Trenton Police was on scene investigating with the Shooting Response Team at the time of this report.
It was unclear if the 2nd victim was a stabbing or shooting as originally reported over EMS radio. MidJersey.news has reached out to MCPO and Trenton Officials for clarification and comment.

Police Officers arrested Omari Cartwright (18 years old) of the 800 block of Carteret Ave, Trenton, and a 17-year-old juvenile. Cartwright was charged with Hindering Apprehension, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Burglary, Possession of Burglar Tools and Criminal Mischief. Cartwright was lodged in the Mercer Country Correctional Center pending a Detention Hearing.
The juvenile was charged with Burglary and Criminal Mischief, and was released.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER)–Lawrence Township Police say that on September 17, 2022 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Lawrence Township Police Officers arrested Omari Cartwright (18 years old) of the 800 block of Carteret Ave, Trenton, and a 17-year-old juvenile. The two were arrested during a proactive initiative to address ongoing vehicle break-ins that have been reported throughout Lawrence Township.
While Officer Kraszewski and Officer Bystrek were patrolling Township neighborhoods during the overnight hours, they observed two individuals walking in dark clothing and full-face coverings in the area of Wittenborn Dr in the Society Hill South neighborhood. While Officers Kraszewski and Bystrek kept surveillance of the two individuals, additional officers found several vehicles in the area that appeared to have been entered, one with a window shattered.
Officers Kraszewski and Bystrek made contact with the two individuals on Wittenborn Drive and conducted an on-scene investigation. The two individuals were quickly identified as being responsible for shattering the window of a vehicle on Sherman Place just prior to having contact with the officers.
Both were arrested. During the arrest, Omari Cartwright provided a false name and was found to be in possession of a Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine.
