Three Men Charged In Homicide Of Joshua Mcrae Of Trenton, NJ

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)/BRISTOL, PA—According to a Police Criminal Complaint and Affidavit of Probable Cause, filed on August 11, 2022, Robert Shannon Christie of the 400 Block of Centre Street, Trenton, NJ has been charged with several charges related to a January 19, 2020 homicide of Joshua Mcrae of Trenton, NJ in Bristol, PA. The affiants are Trooper Michael Gesualdo, Sergeant Brandon Corby of the Pennsylvania State Police and Detective David Hanks of the Bucks County Detective Bureau, Office of the District Attorney.  

According to the affidavit on January 19, 2020, at 1:39 a.m., the Bucks County 9-1-1 Center received the first call about a body lying on the side of I-295 near the Pennsylvania Turnpike on-ramp in Bristol Township, Bucks County, PA. The call was then transferred to the Pennsylvania State Police, Trevose Station, the body was identified as Joshua Mcrae of Trenton, NJ. A postmortem was performed by Medical Examiner Dr. Hood who determined that Mcrae died of gunshot wounds. The manner of death was deemed a Homicide.

The victim Joshua Mcrae was born on April 18, 1988, and he was killed on January 19, 2020, at the age of 31. Joshua Mcrae resided in Trenton, New Jersey at the time of his death. Joshua Mcrae is survived by several children and was not married at the time of his death.

The investigation that followed lead to identification of Robert Shannon Christie, of Centre Street, Trenton, NJ as a target in the homicide of Joshua Mcrea.

According the affidavit, based on the facts, law enforcement investigation and subsequent Presentment by the Bucks County Investigating Grand Jury of Thursday August 11, 2022, a warrant of arrest was issued for Robert Shannon Christie DOB: 05/27/86 for the following violations of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code:

  1. Criminal Homicide.
  2. Criminal Conspiracy.
  3. Possession of Firearm prohibited.
  4. Flight to avoid apprehension.
  5. Tamper with evidence.
  6. Abuse of Corpse.
  7. Possession instrument of crime.
  8. Hindering Apprehension.
