TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday evening in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
Trenton police officers were alerted to gun shots in the area of Oakland and Hoffman streets at approximately 8:42 p.m. on Friday, May 26th, 2023. Officers observed the victim’s vehicle drive away from the area of the shooting, lose control and strike several parked cars in the area of 524 Hoffman Avenue. As officers began to render aid to the victim, they observed that he was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Sherief Treadwell, 36, of Trenton, NJ, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
