WEST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)–The West Windsor Township Police Department February 2021 Police Blotter contains incidents until March 6, 2021 as listed below. INCIDENT:  2021-3424  Possession of Heroin                                           Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  02/04/21  at  11:28 AM

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  U.S. Route 1 and Meadow Rd.

WHO: (ARRESTED, INJURED, DRIVER, VICTIM, OTHER)

Arrested: Zachary J. Schwartz                Resident of Penndell, PA 19047 

DETAILS:  Sgt. Bal initiated a stop on a silver Honda Accord sedan for speeding. Ptl. Silcox #587 and Sgt. Kivet (Robbinsville PD) along with his narcotic detecting K9 Quori assisted during the stop.  During the investigation, Zachary Schwartz was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Schwartz was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  MarketFair, 3535 U.S. Route 1

 

WHO: (ARRESTED, INJURED, DRIVER, VICTIM, OTHER)

Arrested: Shaunna A. Hvasta                Resident of Hamilton, NJ 08610       

OFFICER:  Sgt. L. Brodowski  #479                    

 

DETAILS:  Sgt. Brodowski observed an unoccupied vehicle parked in the “Fire Lane” at the MarketFair mall. When he checked the vehicle’s registration, it was determined to be suspended. When the driver, Shaunna Hvasta came out to her vehicle, she initially provided a false name to Sgt. Brodowski. After she finally provided her driver’s license to him, she was found to have two warrants for her arrest from Hamilton Twp. Hvasta was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Hamilton Municipal Court.

INCIDENT:  2021-4503  Robbery

 

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  02/14/21  at  1:17 PM

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Ulta Beauty, 540 Nassau Park Blvd.

 

OFFICER:  Ptl. M. Nagy #561                                        

 

DETAILS:  Patrol units responded to Ulta Beauty on the report of two females who had shoplifted from the store. Investigation determined the following: Two female suspects entered the store together and immediately went to the designer fragrances aisle. They took out reusable shopping bags they had concealed under their clothing, grabbed multiple packages of designer perfume off the shelf, and stuffed them into their bags. The store manager observed this unusual shopping behavior and told the suspects to stop. One of the suspects then threatened to use Mace® if they did not stay away. After filling their bags with over 100 bottles of fragrance worth almost $10,000, they ran from the store. The suspects got into a black Acura ILX with a registration from Maryland and fled the scene.

INCIDENT:  2021-5416   Fugitive (Wanted Person)

 

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  2/23/21  at  9:29 Hours

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Larry’s Sunoco, 3729 U.S. Route 1

 

OFFICER:  Sgt. L. Brodowski #479               

 

WHO: (ARRESTED, INJURED, DRIVER, VICTIM, OTHER)

Arrested: Kenneth R. Galloway Jr.                Resident of Louisville, KY 40208 

DETAILS:  Sgt. Brodowski was detailed to the Larry’s Sunoco gas station for a male requesting assistance after being left stranded there. Sgt. Brodowski met with Kenneth Galloway who stated that he had no money and no way to call anyone for help. Sgt. Brodowski offered him a ride which he accepted. As per procedure, Sgt. Brodowski identified him prior to allowing him into his patrol car. That is when Galloway was found to be a “Wanted” Fugitive from Kentucky with full Extradition. Galloway was taken into custody, processed at WWPD Headquarters, and transported to the Mercer County Correction Center to await extradition to Kentucky.

INCIDENT:  2021-5588  Fugitive (Wanted Person)

 

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  02/25/21  at  3:05 PM

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  U.S. Route 1 and Quakerbridge Rd.

 

WHO: (ARRESTED, INJURED, DRIVER, VICTIM, OTHER)

Arrested: Michael S. Brooks                Resident of Trenton, NJ 08611 

OFFICER:  Ptl. B. Caufield #5107                  

 

DETAILS:  Ptl. B. Caulfield initiated a stop on a white 2015 Honda sedan after observing it make an unsafe lane change in front of a dump truck causing it to brake abruptly. The driver also failed to signal the lane change and the vehicle registration was suspended and expired. During the stop, Michael Brooks was determined to be a “Wanted” Fugitive out of Hudson County. Brooks was processed at WWPD Headquarters and transported to the Mercer County Correction Center.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  Home Sense, 220 Nassau Park Blvd.

 

OFFICER:  Ptl. K. LaForge #5104                   

 

WHO: (ARRESTED, INJURED, DRIVER, VICTIM, OTHER)

Arrested:  Jeffrey S. Whitman                 Resident of Fairless Hills, PA 19030 

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to the Home Sense store for the report of a suspicious male who was masturbating aggressively through his pants in the presence of a female customer. The male, identified as Jeffrey Whitman, left the store and was observed to be seated in a green Honda sedan with a Pennsylvania registration when Ptl. LaForge arrived on scene. During the investigation, Whitman was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Whitman was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol units responded to a residential burglary in progress. Upon arrival at the house, Patrol Officers found Charles Washington in the fenced backyard of the residence with a mop stick in his hand. He was told to put the stick down, he complied with officers, and was taken into custody. Investigation determined that Washington had likely used the mop stick to break a window to get into the sunroom portion of the house. He could not get into the main portion of the house because the rear sliding door was locked, so he began stealing what he could from the sunroom by putting the items into a trash can he took from a nearby house. Washington was also found to have two warrants for his arrest from Camden. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of cuts he received from the broken glass. After Washington was medically released from the hospital, he was processed at WWPD Headquarters, and then transported the Mercer County Correction Center.

DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  02/28/21  at  6:40 AM

 

LOCATION OCCURRED:  U.S. Route 1 and Carnegie Center Dr.        

 

OFFICER:  Ptl. E. McQuade #597                   

 

WHO: (ARRESTED, INJURED, DRIVER, VICTIM, OTHER)

Arrested: Shana N. Snyder                Resident of Jacksonville, FL 32225 

DETAILS:  Ptl. McQuade responded to a single car crash in the area of U.S. Route 1 and the MarketFair mall. Upon his arrival on scene, he found a black Chevrolet SUV disabled and damaged in the left lane. Investigation determined that the SUV struck the center barrier at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Carnegie Center Dr. After the impact the SUV traveled over 1000 feet before coming to a stop. The driver, Shana Snyder, was determined to be DWI. After all processing was completed, she was released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.
