ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–At 6:55 am Robbinsville Township firefighters were dispatched to the 1st block of Applegate Drive for a building fire in a commercial building.

Mutual aid was also sent from Hamilton Township Fire Department and Hope Fire Company of Allentown-Upper Freehold. The fire was also at Robbinsville’s shift change making available an additional engine for the firefight.

When fire apparatus first arrived crews found a large industrial printing press on fire in a 190,000 square foot printing facility. Firefighters stretched a hand line and quickly extinguished the fire inside the building, perhaps saving millions of dollars and loss of jobs.

Firefighters remained on scene to help evacuate smoke from the building and overhaul the fire. The Robbinsville Township fire marshal is investigating the fire.

MANALAPAN, NJ (MONMOUTH) and MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MORRIS)–The New Jersey State Police have arrested Dante Desadario, 21, of Manalapan, N.J., and Joseph Serpe, 37, of Staten Island, N.Y., and seized 110 bags of heroin during a traffic stop yesterday.

At 12:11 a.m., troopers from Netcong Station stopped Desadario for a traffic violation on Interstate 80 in Mount Olive Township, Morris County. During the stop, troopers determined Desadario was under the influence and arrested him for DWI. After further investigation, troopers discovered Serpe was in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested without incident.

Joseph Serpe was charged with possession of heroin, criminal under the influence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dante Desadario was charged with DWI. Both were released pending a court appearance.

Charges are mere accusations and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.

Update On East Brunswick Drowning, Appears Victims Did Not Know How To Swim

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Chief Frank LoSacco of the East Brunswick Police Department announced today that a 62-year-old man, his daughter-in-law, and her daughter have been identified as the victims who perished yesterday in the Township.

Bharat Patel, 62, his 33-year old daughter-in-law Nisha Patel and her 8-year-old daughter, all who reside at the home in East Brunswick, have been identified as the victims.          

East Brunswick Police responded to the residence located at 43 Clearview Road at approximately 4:18 pm on June 22, 2020. and found the three victims unresponsive in the pool; they were pronounced dead shortly after being found.

The Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the manner of death as accidental and the cause of death to be drowning for all three victims.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)- WOODBRIDGE – SEWAREN, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has removed American Flags from bridges along the highway recently. The flags were replaced with signage that reads, “Placement of signage or items of any nature on this structure is strictly prohibited.” Many American Flags have been placed on bridges after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. Many people including veterans, police and other organizations have been maintaining these flags on bridges since the attacks.

After 19 years the NJ Turnpike Authority has a sudden change of heart and ripped American Flags from the bridges citing a “distraction”

Statement by the NJ Turnpike Authority on the flags:

Turnpike Authority Statement on Posting of Flags, Posters, and Signs on Turnpike and Parkway Bridges:The New Jersey Turnpike Authority appreciates and applauds patriotism. We try to express patriotism ourselves every day by maintaining dozens of American flags at properties in our right of way — office buildings, toll plazas, service areas, maintenance facilities, State Police buildings, warehouses. Those flags are treated with the utmost respect by Turnpike Authority personnel. They are flown on suitable staffs. They are illuminated at night. They are lowered to half-staff when the state is in mourning. They are removed, properly destroyed, and promptly replaced when they become faded or worn and are no longer suitable symbols of our national ideals.

The long-standing policy of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority has been to prohibit the display of any flags, signs, or banners by private parties on Turnpike Authority property. While we appreciate the desire of some New Jersey residents to express their patriotism in these turbulent times by displaying flags on Turnpike and Parkway overpasses, Turnpike Authority regulations do not allow it, and for good reason. The Turnpike and Parkway run through more than 100 municipalities and include more than 1,100 bridges and other structures. The NJTA cannot adequately monitor flags mounted by private citizens to make sure they are safely and securely hung, properly displayed, and respectfully maintained. While we hope that everyone who wants to display the American flag finds a suitable location to do so, we believe that limiting the flags displayed on Turnpike Authority property to ones hung and maintained by Turnpike Authority staff is the best way to assure that all flags in the Turnpike and Parkway right of way are treated with the respect they deserve.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–The Trenton Fire Department responded to the 700 Block of West State Street this morning around 6:30 am for a kitchen fire. Firefighters were met with heavy fire on the second floor in the area kitchen that extended to the 3rd floor. Firefighters were able to quickly put hose lines in service and knock down the fire.

The Trenton Building Department, Trenton Police, TEMS and PSE&G also responded to the scene.

FOUND JULY 24, 2020

WEST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)–A massive search for missing person Cameron Ward of West Windsor is under way at West Windsor Community Park and Grover’s Mill Pond area of the Township.

West Windsor Police, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and many other police agencies, Search and Rescue teams, West Windsor and Princeton Junction Fire Departments and West Windsor Emergency Services are conducting a wide area search at West Windsor Community Park and Grover’s Mill Pond.

Agencies are using search and rescue dogs, drone type aircraft and even checking the pond by boats to try and locate the missing person.

West Windsor Community Park is closed until searches of area are completed.

If you have any relevant information about missing person Cameron Ward contact the West Windsor Township Police Department.

WEST WINDSOR, NJ (MERCER)–The West Windsor Police Department is requesting your assistance with locating Cameron Ward, last seen on July 22nd around 5:30 PM leaving his house on foot taking his dogs for a walk in the West Windsor Community Park.

Mr. Ward was discovered missing around 9 PM when the 3 dogs he was walking were returned to their home by a good samaritan. 

Cameron is a 25 year old white male. He is 6’1 and weighs approximately 180 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing an orange/gray shirt, black shorts, and blue/black sneakers.

The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are unknown at this time and we are looking for any information regarding Mr. Ward or his current whereabouts. If you have any information please contact the West Windsor Police Department @ 609-799-1222.

JACKSON, NJ (OCEAN)–Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Jackson Township Police Chief Matthew Kunz announced that Jshawn Cutler, 23, of Jackson, has been charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1), in connection with the death of Isaiah Renouf, also 23, of Jackson. Additionally, Cutler was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5d, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d, and Burglary in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2a(1).

On June 19, 2020, Jackson Township Police responded to a 911 call from a residence on Connor Boulevard in reference to an individual with a stab wound. Responding Officers found Isaiah Renouf on the floor of the residence with a large wound to his chest. Lifesaving measures were attempted at the scene; Mr. Renouf was then transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, where he succumbed to his injuries. A post-mortem examination by the Ocean County Medical Examiner determined the cause of Mr. Renouf’s death to be a stab wound to the chest, and the manner of death to be a homicide. A subsequent investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Jackson Township Police Department and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit revealed that Mr. Renouf and Jshawn Cutler had an altercation at the Connor Boulevard residence, where Cutler stabbed Mr. Renouf – causing his death. Cutler was later apprehended during a motor vehicle stop by the Lakewood Township Police Department. He is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Prosecutor Billhimer and Chief Kunz would like to acknowledge the cooperative assistance of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Jackson Township Police Department, Lakewood Township Police Department, Pemberton Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, for their collaborative efforts in connection with this very thorough investigation. “Outstanding teamwork was exhibited today by all the law enforcement officers and agencies involved in this investigation,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated. “This horrendous crime was solved so swiftly thanks to the hard work and determination of these fine men and women in blue. Through their efforts, a very dangerous person has been removed from the streets of Ocean County. Now, our focus is to ensure that justice is done for Mr. Renouf,” Prosecutor Billhimer concluded.

The press and the public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–The Supreme Court has previously ruled that we must be a colorblind society and

gender-neutral when it comes to employment.  In a decisive decision, the Supreme Court ruled that those protections extend to gays and transgender workers.

I am pleased that the ruling extends to the estimated 8.1 million gay and transgender workers across the America and, in effect, adds L.G.B.T. discrimination to the protections afforded by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

In the ruling, the court affirmed employment protections for a social worker who joined a gay softball team; a skydiver who revealed himself to be gay to a customer; and a funeral director who announced intentions to exhibit the gender that matched her mind.

In this regard, we are finally telling the apprehensive gay teen that it’s okay to be who you are. The Court’s ruling is genuinely an advancement for the principles of equality for all.

ALLENTOWN, NJ (MONMOUTH)–Construction crews on North Main Street stuck a gas line around 2:15 pm. Hope Fire Company and Hamilton Township Fire Department Station 19 responded to the scene. The roadway is closed waiting for PSE&G to shut off the gas line to control the leak.

Hope Fire Company and Allentown Police have the North Main Street closed from Waker Ave to Broad Street and directing a detour in the area until the gas leak is controlled. The gas company usually responds within an hour so the roadway should not be closed for long.

CRANBURY, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–A multi-alarm fire left the beloved Cranbury Pizza heavily damaged. The stubborn fire started just after 7:30 pm and was not brought under control until 10:02 pm. The first arriving units reported heavy smoke from all floors visible. Numerous mutual aid fire departments responded.
